Hi there I own a beautiful GJ72-12 string and wanted to change the plastic bridge with an upgrade to bone, can you recommend a brand please and size as I know bridge pins vary in size....thanks in adcance..

It is actually not hard to make them yourself. you can go to your local guitar shop to buy pieces of bone and sand them down to the right measurements. I just did a compensated bridge on an alvarez of mine. bridge pins actually influence sounds the least of the saddle, nut, and bridge pins. making bridge pins however is hard, so I would recommend buying them. to figure out the size i would recommend going to a local music store or guitar builder, they can help you out with finding the right size, and will probably be able to order exactly what you are looking for.

.205" top diameter with a 3° taper is typically what our bridge pins are.

Wondering after you mofi the nut- what would be the effect if you went back to standard 12-string set? Would it matter or does the nut need to be replaced?

I have my GD30CE-12 as a test subject- I have been switching out strings (glad to known the tension limits now)- the RegMex set-up sounds very interesting and would love to HEAR my songs would sound like that. Funny thing- recently cleaning and doing a set-up- had no new 12-sets, but I have plenty of double 6-sets. So I ordered more 12-sets- but this would be the time to make it RegMex. Love to hear your thoughts Tom. BTW- Silk and Steel strings - very comfortable to play.

It would need to be re slotted (a new nut) to go back to original.

Its a good idea put a bridge doctor in the guitar

We don't think that it is. Also, it will void your warranty.
