Takamine

Congratulations are in order for Minsoo Park, the recipient of the Spring 2016 Takamine Acoustic Guitar Scholarship from Musicians Institute (pictured above along with Program Chair Stig Mathisen). Minsoo, who comes from South Korea, is a student at MI’s Guitar Program, and has several years of fingerstyle guitar experience with a preference for “acoustic funk and blues”. As for his future plans Minsoo says, "I want to record an album of my own original music, and to be a singer-songwriter.”

He certainly has the right tool to get rolling on his singer-songwriter career. The Takamine EF340S TT that he received is part of our new Thermal Top series, using a technology in which the spruce guitar tops are baked in an oxygen-free vacuum environment before the guitar is constructed. It results in a quick response, balance and projection ordinarily found in a well-played vintage instrument, as is perfect for anyone who will be recording and gigging.
