Will Carriker Wins Musician Institute Takamine Scholarship

Big congratulations go out to Will Carriker, an incoming student at Musicians Institute in Hollywood, CA. He's the winner of the school's Fall 2018 Takamine Acoustic Guitar Scholarship, and in addition to the financial help toward his tuition fees, Will gets a great guitar to play when he starts his studies at MI: a Takamine GN90CE-ZC, an excellent instrument that is at the top of Takamine's G Series. Will, who comes to MI’s Guitar Program from Kansas City, MO, will enjoy songwriting and performance on the GN90CE-ZC, an instrument that offers a solid spruce top, beautiful ziricote back and sides, and great-sounding TP4TD electronics for when it's time to plug in.

Will impressed MI's judging panel with his fingerstyle playing skills, and says that his personal musical preferences are in the metal, rock, and progressive areas. He says, "My goals and aspirations are to be touring, writing my own music (in a band with others), doing studio work, teaching and sharing the knowledge I learn, and anything else I can do that involves music as a career."

We wish Will the best of luck as he continues through his education and what will likely be a great career in music!
