Steven Wilson Tours with Takamine

Progressive rock icon Steven Wilson is a relatively recent convert to Takamine. He used an EF341SC extensively on the first leg of the tour supporting his latest album To the Bone, and is also using a P7NC and an EF360SC Thermal Top guitar. Initially known as the founder, lead guitarist, lead vocalist and songwriter of the band Porcupine Tree, Steven has also worked with a "who's who" of bands in the prog world including artists such as King Crimson, Jethro Tull, Andy Partridge, Yes, Marillion, Tears for Fears, Roxy Music and others.

Takamine Legacy Series: Fan Favorites Forever

Over the years, Takamine has made some changes to the product lineup that allow us to accommodate new models. But in some cases, the guitar designs are so classic that they remain fan favorites that we never want to stop producing. Those guitars are what make up the Takamine Legacy Series.

What’s the Deal with the Takamine “Split” Saddle?

One great Takamine innovation is our use of a “split” saddle on many of our guitars. Splitting the saddle provides the plain E and B strings a separate saddle angle in relation to all the wound strings. This simple but effective solution gives you more accurate intonation up the neck. Another advantage is that it equalizes the pressure on the Palathetic pickup system between the plain and wound strings, giving superior string-to-string output balance. Anything that you play comes out more balanced and in-tune. You can find the split saddle design on many available Takamine guitar models.
