Guitar of the Month: TSF48C

The Santa Fe Series, with their handmade quality and southwestern styling, was one of the classic Takamine guitar families that now make up our Legacy Series. The TSF48C Santa Fe NEX offers a solid spruce top matched with a solid rosewood back, dovetail-jointed mahogany neck, and Takamine's proprietary CTP-3 CoolTube preamp and Palathetic under-saddle pickup, as well as a southwest Native American design theme with a black crow rosette and eagle fingerboard inlays.

Takamine Artist Focus: Keith Wallen (Breaking Benjamin)

Most people know Keith Wallen from his role as co-rhythm guitarist and backing vocalist in the multi-platinum hard rock band Breaking Benjamin, but in August of this year Keith also put out his first full-length solo album, the very well-received This World or the Next. Later this fall, Keith and Breaking Benjamin (including fellow Takamine player Jasen Rauch) are doing an acoustic tour with Keith opening shows for his “other” band, and plenty of Takamine guitars ready for the task.

Meet Jackson Dean

It’s hard to believe that a 20-year-old guy from Maryland could possess as big a modern country sound as Jackson Dean does, but when you hear it, you believe it. This hot up-and-comer has been hitting the road with a Takamine P3D, a traditional dreadnought from our popular Pro Series 3, and he also picked up a 12-string Pro Series P6JC-12 that might make some appearances on stage as well.

But the winning entry, a beautiful composition titled “Abuela’s Waltz” by Berklee College of Music master’s jazz student Paride Pignotti, was so great that we thought everyone should give it a listen for purposes of both inspiration and relaxation. Enjoy the sound of Paride’s TH90 Hirade concert classic played on the banks of a meandering river.

VIDEO DEMO
CRN-TS1 Demo by Jake Allen

Check out phenomenal guitarist Jake Allen on the Takamine CRN-TS1, a slope-shoulder dreadnought from Takamine's Thermal Top Series. The top is thermal spruce to impart a played-in "vintage" tone, and the slotted headstock has a cool, old-school vibe that also imparts more down-tension on the nut, so that open strings have extra clarity.
