Guitar of the Month: EF400SC TT

Takamine has long been recognized as the world leader in 12-string acoustic-electric guitars. Songs like “Hotel California” helped introduce the full, articulate sound of a Takamine 12-string to the world, and since then many other iconic guitar performances, live and in the studio, have been created with these fantastic guitars. With the EF400SC TT, you get a Japan-built, handcrafted 12-string dreadnought that incorporates Takamine's "Thermal Top" technology, giving you the desired sound of a played-in vintage instrument in a new solid spruce-topped guitar with modern amenities, like its slender neck, split bone saddle, and exceptional CT4B II electronics, as well as Indian rosewood back and sides. Simple and elegant, this is a great working guitar... and a perfect partner for the EF360SC TT six-string!

VIDEO DEMO: GN77KCE by Mark Blasquez

If you think you can’t get a fantastic guitar that’s still within your budget, Takamine’s G Series GN77KCE is about to blow your mind. It offers a beautiful Hawaiian Koa top, back and sides, and makes the transition to the stage effortless with the addition of Takamine’s own TP-4TD electronics, complete with an equalizer and chromatic tuner built-in. Equally at home with fingerstyle or bold strumming, the GN77KCE might become your next go-to guitar.

Kenny Chesney Launches “Here and Now” Tour

Back in 1994 — which is somehow 28 years ago — we met a young guitarist from Knoxville, TN named Kenny Chesney. He’d just been signed to a label and was in need of a good live acoustic guitar. He played that Takamine EF360SC in his first video, "That's All I Need to Know”, and then used another of our guitars on his first #1 tunes, ”She's Got It All" and "No Shoes No Shirt No Problems”. Hitting the road once again this month for the Here and Now Tour, Kenny has become one of the most successful American crossover artists (and nicest guys) of all time, and still turns to his Takamine guitars to this day.

Dealer Spotlight: Ish Guitars

When Jesse Wilson was just 16, he sold his first car to purchase four basses, and proceeded to set up shop in his parents’ basement as a young entrepreneur. In late 2014, his business had grown enough to get a retail space in Syracuse, NY's Armory Square district, and Ish Guitars was born. Having outgrown the original store space, in 2020 Ish Guitars relocated to a new 5500 square foot facility to focus on their Internet-based sales. They offer a nice selection of Takamine models, and they ship across the country.

Takamine Community Spotlight: Cara Cartney “When You’re Gone”

We love when members of the Takamine Community show us their music, and we love sharing it even more. Here’s Pennsylvania-based musician Cara Cartney, who’s using her Pro Series P6NC on this great rendition of the Cranberries’ “When You’re Gone”. The P6NC is the perfect guitar for a performer like Cara, who covers everything from Neil Young to Patsy Cline, Beyoncé to Nirvana, and Rihanna to System of a Down. This guitar features a resonant solid spruce top with scalloped "X" top bracing, flame maple back and sides, and Takamine’s famous CTP-3 Cool Tube™ preamp system. If you play a Takamine, post your own videos to the Takamine USA site for us to check out and possibly share!
