VIDEO: Understanding Scale Length

Guitars are not all the same, and that’s true of the guitar’s size as well as many other aspects. Scale length is measured as twice the distance between the nut and the 12th fret of a guitar. Different scale lengths affect both tone and playing feel. Takamine’s Tom Watters teaches you more on the topic, and then you can hear the difference for yourself when expert player Jake Allen tries out the Pro Series P4DC (644mm, or 25.35" scale length) versus the Limited Edition CP6SSDC (630mm, or 24.8" scale length).
