VIDEO: Jake Allen Demos THE 60TH

Here's the very talented Jake Allen on one of the most special Limited Edition guitars Takamine has ever produced: THE 60TH. Created in celebration of our historic 60th anniversary, THE 60TH has a body shape based on an early Takamine design that adapted a classical body to an x-braced concert steel string, with the addition of a distinctive cutaway. The top, back, and sides are made of solid highly-figured Hawaiian koa. In keeping with its extra-special nature, THE 60TH features an authenticated genuine diamond embedded as an inlay on the headstock over the “i” in the Takamine logo. It also includes Takamine’s new CTF-2N preamplifier with the warm, dynamic sound of Takamine’s early FET preamp model, affectionately known as the “Brownie”. The guitar is shipped in a very special hard case and includes a commemorative 60th anniversary key fob. Production of THE 60TH is limited to 60 individually numbered guitars worldwide.

Stern Interviews Springsteen

Howard Stern’s first-ever interview with Bruce Springsteen, which aired live on the radio icon’s SiriusXM channel last month, turned out to be one of the more memorable interviews for either. During the marathon two-and-a-half-hour sit-down, a wide-open Springsteen discussed details about his creative process -- the recent selling of his catalog (for $500 million), his last moments with the dying Clarence Clemons, his plans to retire (never)... even what brand of acoustic guitar he plays. You can probably guess The Boss’s answer to that question.

VIDEO: Thermal Top EF740FS TT Demo by Jake Allen

We never get enough of Jake Allen. Here he is once again to demo the Takamine Thermal Top Series EF740FS TT. Takamine's Japan-crafted Thermal Top guitars are made by treating the spruce top with high heat in a controlled environment, resulting in a great played-in sound much like a vintage instrument. The EF740FS TT features solid sapele back and sides, a distinctive slot headstock, and an ebony fingerboard.
