For a good number of years, the only guitars offered by Takamine were the handcrafted instruments built one-by-one by master luthiers at our facility in the central Japanese town of Sakashita. While we still sell plenty of those Pro Series, Legacy Series, and other high-end handmade guitars, it became apparent that more musicians needed the great look, feel, and sound of Takamine at a more value-oriented price. That’s where the G Series comes in. Designed to be affordable for working musicians on a budget, we offer dozens of G Series models that will absolutely meet your musical needs and still deliver the stage-ready performance that your expect from Takamine.

Guitar of the Month: EF740FS TT

Takamine’s Thermal Top Series offers guitars where we treat the spruce top with high heat in a controlled environment, resulting in a great played-in sound, much like a vintage instrument. One of the most spectacular of these is the EF740FS TT, a deep-bodied orchestra model that has a great throaty voice due to the solid sapele back and sides, and the 12-fret neck joint. The mahogany neck features a distinctive slot headstock that appeals to musicians wanting a traditional look. Great for acoustic blues and fingerstyle, it features the stealthy TLD-2 Line Driver preamp and Takamine's legendary Palathetic pickup system.
