Guitar of the Month: TSF40C

Starting in 1993, Takamine’s now-legendary Santa Fe Series added a terrific-looking Southwestern motif to some of our coolest guitar models. The TSF40C is a popular model handcrafted in Japan that pays homage to this great guitar series. It has an NEX body shape, a gloss-finished solid cedar top, and sapele back and sides. The TSF40C also includes Takamine’s acclaimed CTP-3 Cool Tube™ preamp system.

G Series GLD12E & GLN12E Demo by Mark Blasquez

Guitar player Mark Blasquez shows off the great tones of the affordable GLD12E dreadnought and GLN12E NEX from Takamine's value-packed G Series. These guitars offer the benefit of a shorter scale length, providing a softer, warmer sound due to the lowered tension of the 630mm scale. The spruce top articulates the percussive richness of the okoume back and sides for a bold voice. Transition to the stage is achieved through Takamine's TP-3G electronics. With its 3-band EQ and chromatic tuner, dialing in the right tone is easy!

David Lindley (1944-2023)

Last month’s passing of the great David Lindley was a huge loss to the world of music. David was massively respected not only for his work as a sideman with the likes of Jackson Browne, Linda Ronstadt, Warren Zevon, James Taylor, Curtis Mayfield, David Crosby, Graham Nash, Bruce Springsteen, and Bob Dylan, but also as a solo artist. Check out these great interviews we did with David back in 2012, where he explains his love for Takamine guitars and his relationship with Takamine godfather Mass Hirade.
