Two Demos of the
Thermal Top EF740FS TT

One of the hidden gems of the Takamine TT “Thermal Top” Series is the EF740FS TT. It’s a fantastic slot-headstock deep-bodied orchestra guitar that has the added benefit of a thermally-treated solid spruce top, resulting in a great played-in sound, much like a vintage instrument. Here are two very different demos of the EF740FS TT by two unique players: Jake Allen, who does his phenomenal percussive fingerstyle thing, and Dan Cohen, who tunes it to open E and does a little strumming and some fun work with the slide.

Fret Central carries Takamine G Series, Pro Series, Legacy Series, Signature Series, and other great guitars, including Classical and Hirade models.

Alan Arkin’s Takamine Connection

You know Alan Arkin as the recently departed, universally respected, award-winning actor. But long before he got in front of the movie camera, he was a performing musician. In addition to Alan being a decades-long friend of the Takamine family, he enjoyed playing his nylon-string TC135SC, and even appeared in a 1997 ad that also featured six-string luminary John Scofield.
