Jake Allen Demos the Takamine LTD2024

Every year, Takamine produces a very special Limited Edition guitar model that showcases the incredible skills of our expert luthiers in Japan. This year’s model is the LTD2024, which uses our solar system as a design theme, reflected in every aspect of the guitar from its faded Penumbra Blue finish to the intricate inlays on its African ebony fingerboard that represent all eight planets, with the Sun located at the 12th fret position. Every detail of this guitar, from the newly-designed carbon saddle that adds both tone and beauty advantages, to the bridge pins with black marble-textured inlays, was carefully considered by Takamine’s experienced design team, right down to the color of the logo that matches the lighter hue of the faded finish. There’s no better choice than the amazing Jake Allen to do a demo of this completely unique and beautiful instrument, which is as impressive in its tone and playability as it is in its rarity for collectors of fine handcrafted guitars.

Introducing Takamine's Upgraded
SH Cases

Once upon a time, there were just two kinds of guitars cases: hardshell cases and gig bags, and they were very different items intended for different purposes. But both had their advantages and disadvantages. Now, Takamine is introducing their new series of semi-hard (SH) cases for our higher-end Japan-built handcrafted guitars, and they give you the best of both worlds… excellent protection for your instruments for every purpose including air travel, and lighter weight that is not only more manageable but also safer for your best Takamine instruments. Tom Watters is here to explain the details.

Get To Know the the Takamine
CTF-2N Preamplifier

Few people have a better understanding of Takamine’s preamplifiers than Jake Allen… he’s tried them all in nearly every combination of guitar and electronics system. In this video, Jake will tell you about — and let you hear — the newest addition to our preamplifier family, the CTF-2N. Announced in 2022 along with the release of Takamine's special 60th anniversary limited edition guitar, the CTF-2N was inspired by one of Takamine's legendary early FET preamp models, affectionately known as the “Brownie”. The CTF-2N has that legendary sound, allowing you to plug in and deliver iconic Takamine tone while adding the more modern functions of easy battery access, a chromatic tuner, and a notch filter.
