G Series GN11MCE Demo by Jake Allen

Sapele may be somewhat new to you as a tonewood for guitar crafting, but luthiers have used it for decades to create great-looking, excellent sounding instruments. With a look that resembles mahogany, sapele also has a great sound that’s also reminiscent of its more well-known cousin, and is a more sustainable wood as a bonus. Jake Allen shows it off in this demo of the GN11MCE, a very affordable all-sapele cutaway NEX-sized Takamine that’s great for acoustic blues, fingerstyle, or roots music, and includes Takamine’s own TP-4T electronics, complete with an equalizer and chromatic tuner built-in.

Jackson Dean Goes Classic R&B on a Takamine TC132SC

Singer-songwriter Jackson Dean was barely 20 years old when he signed with a record label and started a life of recording and touring. For the past few years, his go-to guitar was the Takamine Pro Series P3D for both stage and studio. When the young country star reached out to us to get ahold of one of our top-tier nylon-string classical guitars, we were intrigued… until we heard the result. Then we were just blown away.

GD34CE Demo by Mark Blasquez

Guitarist Mark Blasquez is here with a great demo of a great guitar: the G Series GD34CE. It's a classic-looking cutaway dreadnought that is inspired by Takamine's Legacy Series EF341SC. Carrying much of the EF341SC's look and appointments, this value packed G-Series guitar is a gorgeous, great sounding instrument. Deriving its core sound from a solid spruce top with sapele back and sides, this dreadnought is pure Takamine in its voice; shimmery, bold, and booming. The guitar goes to the stage with ease, due to Takamine's TP-3G electronics, featuring a 3-band EQ and chromatic tuner.

How We Make Takamine Guitar Demos the Way We Do, and Why

We hear from people pretty often who enjoy the great demos we make for our Takamine guitars. Most comments and very complimentary, but some of them wish we would do more demos using the built-in electronics of the guitar. Others would prefer we feature different playing styles or music genres. However, there is a method to our madness, and we’re happy to explain in detail about our choices for Takamine guitar demos.
