Takamine Performance Contest:
The Winners

We got dozens of great video entry submissions for our Summer 2024 Takamine Performance Contest. It’s great to see — and hear — the wide variety of music choices and performance styles that Takamine players across the USA enjoy, and it wasn’t easy to narrow down the dozens and dozens of entries to a short list of winners. But we’re happy to announce that Joey Nicholson gets the grand prize, and hopefully Joey will enjoy his Takamine G Series GN77KCE, plus high-quality cable and gig bag that he earned with his entry. Our ten runners-up are also all featured on our winner’s circle, and another 15 honorable mentions are listed, so go check them out!

Guitar of the Month: G Series GD34CE

Let’s say you really wanted an iconic handcrafted glossy black Takamine EF341SC… because pretty much everyone does. Now let’s imagine you can’t spend very much on a new guitar… because we’ve all been there too. We have good news for you: the G Series GD34CE is a classic-looking cutaway dreadnought that is inspired by our famous Legacy Series EF341SC. Deriving its core sound from a solid spruce top with sapele back and sides, this black beauty of a dreadnought is pure Takamine in its voice: shimmery, bold, and booming.

Making the Case for Our New Pro Semi-Hard Cases

The case that’s now included with our highest-end handcrafted Japan-built guitars does not have a rigid outer shell… because we wanted to offer something better. The new Pro Semi-Hard Case, available for Jumbo, Dreadnought, Classical/Hirade, New Yorker, NEX, and OM-shape Takmaine guitars, offers better protection than the old-school case, and has the bonus of being lighter and easier to carry. Here’s Tom Watters to explain how and why.
