Guitar of the Month: TSF40C

Takamine’s Legacy Series is made up of some of the all-time classic models that have inspired people for generations. A great example is the TSF40C, a guitar that’s handcrafted in our pro series facility in Japan. It’s a popular NEX model that's a favorite of those who prefer a gloss finish with their solid cedar tops. The turquoise eagle 12th fret inlay pays homage to Takamine's legendary Santa Fe series. More features include a solid sapele back and Takamine’s proprietary CTP-3 Cool Tube preamp system.

Toby Keith Inducted to CMHOF... and Blake Flies Flag

G Series GLD11E & GLN11E Demo by Mark Blasquez

Guitarist Mark Blasquez takes you through a demo with two value-packed G Series guitars... the GLD11E dreadnought and GLN11E NEX. These guitars have the benefit of a shorter scale length, providing a softer, warmer sound due to the lowered tension of the 630mm scale. Their features include okoume top, back, and sides, and Takamine's TP-3G electronics with 3-band EQ and chromatic tuner.

Takamine 12-String Setup -- Requinto-Style

In a traditional 12-string setup, the courses (dual sets of strings that are played together) are an octave apart from each other on the lowest four strings (E, A, D, and G) and in unison only on the top two (B and E). But for Regional Mexican styles, some players prefer to have all of the strings set up in courses of two identical unison pitches by using two identical 6-string sets. Learn more about this setup and how to do it the right way.
